**Foster Home located in New York** Christopher Robin is a super happy boy! He tested positive for heartworms at the shelter and they treated him - how they were able to keep him quite for recovery is a mystery! :) He actually does pretty well containing himself in the house but, oh, when he hits the yard he is a BLUR!!! He loves just running laps around the yard, tossing toys in the air and catching them, wrestling with the other dogs! This little boy will have to have a yard to play in and would prefer another doggie buddy to help burn his energy. He also needs a lap to cuddle into after he's done playing! :)

IT'S HOWDY DOODY TIME! This freckle-faced stray found himself unclaimed at animal control and at risk of euthanasia until rescued by CRU. Howdy Doody is very nice, is good with other dogs and cats but would do best in a home without children. Howdy is crate and leash trained. The Veterinarian found Howdy to be in pretty good shape other than having bad teeth (but a very cute underbite) and Luxating Patellas, a knee condition common in small breeds such as Chihuahuas. Howdy's teeth have been cleaned (he lost 4) and he was neutered. Howdy Doody does not like to go to the doctor or have his nails trimmed but he does love to roll over on his back for chest rubs, go riding in the car, take a bath and roam around the yard. Adoption donation is $250.00.

Every baby deserves their first and every interaction with those around them to be positive. Unfortunately, in Eeyore's first two years of life he has the wisdom that no dog, nor human for that matter, should ever know. Eeyore was seized from a cruelty case - 50% of his hair missing, the tips of his ears cut off, wedges sliced out of the remaining parts of his ears, scabs covering his body. This young boy looks like a very old man for what he went through. Yet, he is a lesson to us all in trust and forgiveness. Upon coming into my home he gave me warning growls when I would pass him by, but I just gave him his space - I didn't know what all he had been through or felt and I wanted our contact to be on his terms. By day 2 he asked me to pet him, showing me his belly. By day 3 he was dancing for me on his hind legs, begging to be picked up! All he wants to do is love and be loved. I've known him for less than a week and the old soul in these puppy eyes has taught me volumes.

Rudy Tooty was an owner surrender from Kentucky. This little dog was just too much for his elderly owner to manage. Rudy is ok with other dogs and cats but needs an experienced Chi/dog owner and a home without children due to his being mouthy when very excited. Rudy had a lot of freedom to roam in Kentucky and not much human handling so sometimes he is unsure or people. He wants to be in control and will test humans to see just what he can get away with but he does respond to firm verbal commands. Rudy will need an owner who can be his pack leader and not the other way around. Rudy Tooty is crate trained, walks well on a leash and his potty training is improving. Hermie is such a needy little soul. Frightened and confused by the turn of events in his life, he has no idea who to trust anymore. Unfortunately although CRU can do many things for this boy to return him to a save and healthy life, we can not do anything about the fact that he was diagnosised with a grade 4/5 heart murmer. We do not know how many years sweet little Hermie may have left, but we do know that we intend to make them the happiest years of his life. Hermie is available for adoption but will need to go to a home that is comfortable with his medical condition and also that is quiet and very loving. No children or large dogs for Hermie please.

This adorable little girl is the perfect lap dog. She just wants to be cuddled, kissed and loved, well a lot. Her human mommy just passed away and she's very confused and scared, however it took her all of 1 minute to get on her foster mommy's lap and love her. We have been told she travelled well. Her mom was a 72 year old lady with no other pets, she is adjustng but still would like all the love. Chica is used to sleeping in bed, and jumping on your lap for love every time you sit. She likes to be close to you if she can. Her former mommy's son said his mother held and carried Chica constantly. Where I lived it was blistering hot in the summers, freezing in the winters, and wet in the rain. I barked for food, water, and attention until my throat was sore. I gave up. There was one thing I looked forward to in my so called life; the cage door would rattle and open and they would place another dog with me for awhile. But he was not my light in this darkness, it was what I knew would follow. After he left, a miracle happened. It made the sad days bearable, for I knew that small rays of hope and love grew inside me and would soon find their way into the sun. I would be able to give the gift of my unconditional love to another life. I would cherish every moment until they took them, too soon, from me, and lay waiting for my next miracle. I am a mother. One day was different. They took me out. I wondered, would I now get to join my many babies in the happy, joyful lives I had always hoped they had gone to? I was put in the back of a truck with several other dogs. The place they took us to was loud. There were so many desperate dogs crying for their freedom. Had they not learned yet that no one was listening? I heard a lot of talking and then watched them walk away. Where were we? Then a shock went through my body; hands reached for me and picked me up in a way I was not accustomed. For the first time in my life, aside from being hushed, a soft voice spoke to me. She said, "Don't worry, we'll find you help." I am in foster care now. And my heart sings because I have found somebody to mother. He did not come into foster care with the others and me. He was here waiting. Small, fragile, and broken, like me. I spoke softly in his ear, "Don't worry, I am your help." Morghanna was dumped at a shelter by a backyard breeder along with ..... ....... .......... She is only 9 but her body is ancient. Behind her clouded eyes you see a hidden spirit - one that has buried itself so far for fear of being broken. They may have broken her body - she has a rib that juts out of her chest from being allowed to heal wrong, hair loss from going without flea treatment, a bristled coat from malnutrition, an emaciated body from lack of food - but her spirit lives for her new "baby", Hermie. She has adopted him as her own. This tiny 5lb, 5yr old boy has a slightly open fontanel, a grade 4 heart murmur, but she loves him just the same. How could we possibly take him from her? Carmello is a Chihuahua who came from an ill breeder who could no longer care for her numerous dogs. Carmello is timid but not aggressive, barks at and stays away from new people. Due to his shyness, Carmello must go to an adult only home with a securely fenced yard. Once Carmello gets to know you he is loving and attentive, likely to be a one-person dog and not readily accepting of strangers. Housebreaking continues to be a challenge and most likely will never be achieved 100%. He loves to be picked up so he can give you kisses and gnaw on your nose. Carmello tolerates his Doberman brother but really loves to play with dogs his own size and cats too.

Reggie was found by a lady in Dayton who was kind enough to travel 4 hrs to bring him to me. Ol' Regg settled right into his foster home making his way down to the kennel and the barn as he helped with the chores. He's a perfect gentleman and quiet as a mouse. At night he'll jump in bed and sleep against your back under the covers. Other dogs, cats, horses, geese - he's cool with all of them. He was already neutered when found so we're getting him ready for his first trip to the vet and he'll be good to go!
